New Persona (Bow Arts Fair)
The Republic (www.the-republic.net) will be represented by having an ambassador (the artist) present, carrying a flag of the republic asking people to identify themselves and establish their identity by issuing plastic identity cards to the public. These plastic cards are made available as multiples at a minimal charge, the public will be asked to re-identify themselves by giving three random letters and six digits of their choice which will be written onto the card and given to the person for safekeeping. On the ‘hour’ the ambassador carries a separate ceremonial flag of the republic. The intention is to present the nation state to its citizenry, the individual thereafter being able to establish their own identity through the determination of their own self in relationship to the card.
