Gambit (Lewisham Art House)

Three armies are held in abeyance in this piece. To attack either of the other two armies is to become immediately vulnerable.  Each army is determined by their ‘colour‘ which renders them highly visible to their opposition, who in turn is very aware of their own obvious nature. The rules of chess are followed within this battlefield in as much as the ‘King’ is not an immediate threat of attack from any of the Opposition.  At the point of observation Gambit remains in uncomfortable stasis.
